Short answer
Micro export means exporting commercial shipments whose gross weight does not exceed 600 kg and whose value does not exceed €30,000 excluding VAT, without using a customs broker, with an ETGB filed by an authorised express cargo company. Cargonet handles the invoice and product check, door pickup, coordination of the ETGB process and international delivery as a single process.
What does our micro export service cover?
In micro export, a smooth customs exit depends on the information on the invoice matching the shipment exactly. That is why we start the process not with transport but with a document check.
- Checking the invoice, recipient details and product descriptions before shipping
- Support in verifying the HS code (GTİP) for your products
- Door pickup and a check that the packing is suitable for international transport
- Passing all the information needed for the ETGB declaration to the carrier in full
- International transport and sharing the tracking number with you
- Sending you the closed ETGB details for your VAT refund file
- The A.TR movement certificate process for EU shipments when needed
Who is it for?
How micro export with the ETGB works in 5 steps
- 1Quote and pre-check
You share the product, quantity, weight and dimensions and the destination country. Together we confirm that the shipment fits the micro export limits and which documents are needed.
- 2Issuing the invoice
You issue a VAT-free (export exemption) invoice in the name of the buyer abroad. We recommend working with your accountant on the invoice type and technical details; our invoice guide includes a checklist.
- 3Pickup and package check
Your shipment is collected from your address; the packing, label and invoice details are checked against each other.
- 4ETGB and export customs
The carrier files the ETGB electronically with the information on the invoice and export customs clearance is completed.
- 5Delivery and closing
The shipment is delivered to the buyer. When the ETGB is closed, this information is sent to you for use in your VAT refund file.

Legal basis
- Communiqué on Customs Procedures for Goods Carried by Post and Express Cargo (Serial No. 1) — first published in Official Gazette No. 31817 of 22 April 2022; in force since 1 May 2022.
- Article 10/7: goods under the export regime whose gross weight does not exceed 600 kg and whose value does not exceed €30,000 are declared by the operator (the limits were raised from 300 kg / €15,000 by the amendment published in Official Gazette No. 33126 of 3 January 2026).
- Article 10/5: the declaration must include at least a six-digit tariff subheading (the first 6 digits of the GTİP) for export goods.
- Articles 10/17–19: consignment exports can also be made within these limits with a simplified customs declaration and a proforma invoice; the goods must be definitively sold within one year of the export date (Official Gazette No. 33069 of 6 November 2025).
The benefits of micro export for your business
- No customs broker costs: small consignments avoid the fixed costs of a classic export.
- Fast customs: thanks to the electronic declaration, the shipment clears customs within the express flow.
- VAT advantage: the sale is invoiced VAT-free under the export exemption; when the conditions are met, the VAT you have paid can be refunded.
- Official export record: your sales are recorded as exports and can be used as evidence in e-export support applications.
- Flexibility: it works at any scale, from a single order to regular shipments.
Pre-shipping checklist
Prepare
- The buyer's full name, address, phone number and email
- A clear, understandable description for each product (such as "women's cotton T-shirt")
- Unit price, quantity and total value matching the invoice
- The correct HS code (GTİP)
- The actual weight and box dimensions
- Sturdy packing suitable for international transport
Avoid
- Vague product descriptions such as "gift", "sample" or "parts"
- A value or quantity on the invoice that differs from the shipment
- Exceeding the 600 kg or €30,000 limit in a single declaration
- Shipping products that are banned or require a permit in the destination country
- A missing recipient phone number (the most common cause of customs delays)
What about taxes in the destination country?
The ETGB is the declaration for your shipment's exit from Türkiye. The destination country's import taxes apply separately, and they changed significantly in 2025–2026:
- European Union: since 1 July 2026, the customs exemption for shipments under €150 has ended; a flat €3 duty applies for each different product category in the parcel. Details: EU 2026 customs change.
- USA: the de minimis exemption for shipments under $800 was suspended on 29 August 2025. Details: US de minimis guide.
- If you don't want your buyer to pay at customs, consider duties-paid (DDP) shipping.
Frequently asked questions
What is the micro export limit in 2026?
The micro export (ETGB/BGB) limit is 600 kg gross and €30,000 per shipment. The limits were raised from 300 kg and €15,000 by the Communiqué amendment published in Official Gazette No. 33126 of 3 January 2026.
Do I need to set up a company for micro export?
Exporting with the ETGB is a commercial sale; you need a tax registration that allows you to issue invoices to a buyer abroad. A sole proprietorship can also meet this requirement; we recommend deciding on the right structure with your accountant.
Who files the ETGB?
The declaration is made electronically by an express cargo operator authorised by the Ministry of Trade for indirect representation, or by PTT. Your responsibility is the accuracy of the invoice and product information; Cargonet coordinates passing this information on in full.
Can consignment shipments such as Amazon FBA be made as micro exports?
Yes. With the rules introduced on 6 November 2025, consignment exports can be made with a simplified customs declaration and a proforma invoice within the 600 kg and €30,000 limits; the goods must be sold within one year of the export date.
Can I get a VAT refund on micro exports?
Yes. Micro export benefits from the export exemption under the Turkish VAT Law; when the conditions are met, the VAT you have paid can be claimed back. The invoice and the closed ETGB details are used in the refund file.
Are B2B wholesale sales covered by micro export?
Under the current rules, the ETGB route is also open to wholesale shipments between businesses within the 600 kg and €30,000 limits.
How is an order above the limits shipped?
Shipments over 600 kg or €30,000 are sent with an Export Customs Declaration (classic export) through a customs broker. We can work out together how to plan the order.
Is micro export the same as e-export?
No. E-export is the general name for international sales made online. Micro export is the method of clearing these sales through customs with the ETGB, within the limits.
Does the buyer pay taxes in the destination country?
The ETGB only covers the exit from Türkiye. The destination country's customs duty and VAT apply separately; to avoid these being collected from the buyer, you can choose duties-paid (DDP) shipping.
