Short answer

Whether a product can be shipped abroad depends on three rules: whether it is free to leave Türkiye, air transport and carrier rules (especially for dangerous goods such as batteries, perfume and sprays), and the destination country's import rules. Clothing, books and handmade products usually ship without problems; products such as medicines, food, batteries and perfume are subject to special conditions.

How is it decided whether a product can be shipped?

  1. 1
    Leaving Türkiye

Is the product free to export? Taking some products, such as cultural property, out of Türkiye is prohibited.

  2. 2
    Transport rules

Does the product count as dangerous goods in air transport? Batteries, perfume, sprays and chemicals are subject to special rules.

  3. 3
    Destination country

Is the product free to import, or is a permit or registration needed? For food, medicines and cosmetics, country rules decide.

For the general list of banned products, see items that cannot be shipped abroad, and for dangerous goods, our MSDS guide.
